The Trinidad & Tobago Target Archery Federation held a three-day Archery Judging seminar from 8-10th January. Thirteen Judge Candidates attended the course with two candidates from the recently established Tobago Precision Archery Club being welcomed by the other candidates from Trinidad. The course facilitator was World Archery International Judge Mr. Adam Martinez from Puerto Rico. As part of the course the judge candidates officiated at the first ever-trial shoot to attend an Olympic qualifier.
Archers and judges alike put their best foot forward with young Akash Sooknanan shooting a score of 600/720, the first time this has been achieved by a local recurve archer in Trinidad. Sooknanan will be considered for entry to the Americas’ Continental Qualifier Tournament (CQT) for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games (one of the final Olympic qualifiers for 2016) in Medellin, Columbia.
Following the preliminary round the top four archers progressed to the elimination matches with Omprakaash Singh, Imaani Abdullah and George Vire being victorious in their respective categories; full elimination round results are below, official results and scorecards can be found on the "Results" tab
