TOP SPOTS FOR T&T ARCHERS
as they take on the Americas...
The recently concluded Multi-Sites Indoor Championships of the Americas (MICA) shot at 18M between all the countries of the Western Hemisphere, between January and April each year, saw scores coming in from a total of eight countries including the USA, Canada, Colombia, Ecuador, and Brazil. This event is coordinated by World Archery Americas the regional archery governing body. This year T&T submitted scores from over seventy athletes in twelve categories ranging in ages from eleven to over fifty; the largest number of athletes who have participated thus far with the youth archers showing increasing numbers.
In the Female Compound category T&T's female team of Neela Cezair, Priyanka Dhanie and Sarah Jagesar were in excellent form and scored 214 points out of a possible 240 to get the silver medal, 13 points shy of El Salvador who won gold.
The T&T Target Archery Federation congratulates all archers especially those of the female compound team who's performance augurs well for the continued development of archery in T&T.
